Brazil - Fazenda Rodomunho
The Carvalho Dias and Ottoni families have been growing coffee in Brazil since 1890 and are on their fourth generation of coffee producers. Fair wages, housing, services and utilities are all areas of high importance at Fazenda Rodomunho. They are also focused on environmental protection, preserving nearby forests and regularly composting the wastes accumulated by coffee processing. In addition to environmental and social recognition, Fazenda Rodomunho has also been featured several times in the Cup of Excellence competition, and placed in both the Illy and Gourmet Project competitions. The farm is located in ALto Paranaiba, the highest part of the Cerrado region in the state of Minas Gerais.
Cupping Notes: This Brazil is what we use at the coffee bar for our cold-brewed coffee, and we highly recommend that you try it that way at home. The roast is a bit deeper than most of our other coffees, helping it push forward those dark chocolate and caramel flavors through the cold brew process. This Brazil is also a component to the Dogwood Espresso, though roasted with a significantly different profile.
